Government
In 1835, Reserve Township became an established municipality by the State. Reserve Township is a First Class Township located in Allegheny Township, bordering the City of Pittsburgh. In the 2020 census, the population is 3,204 within an area of about 2 square miles. The five-member Board of Commissioners oversee the operations of the Township. Each Commissioner serves a four year term. Specific powers of the township shall be vested in the board of commissioners and include (examples – for full powers clauses see §§ 1502 – 1505):

- Township Manager
- Police force
The Township Manager oversees the three department government: Administration, Police, and Public Works (which includes the water department).
