Reserve Township Property Tax and Shaler Area School Tax Collection             

Township Property Tax bills are mailed on May 1st:

  • 2% discount if paid by June 30th,
  • Face amount due August 31st
  • 10% penalty if paid after September 1st.

Shaler Area School District School Property Tax bills are mailed on July 1st:

  • 2% discount if paid by August 31st,
  • Face amount due October 31st
  • 10% penalty if paid after November 1st.

Allegheny County Property Tax Collection

Allegheny County Property Tax bills are mailed in February:

  • 2% discount if paid by April 30th,
  • Face amount due May 31st
  • 5% penalty after June 1st.

Earned Income Tax Collection

Keystone Collections Group is the earned income tax collector for the Allegheny North Tax Collection District.  The earned income tax rate is 1%; 1/2% goes to Reserve Township and 1/2% goes to Shaler Area School District.

EIT is required to be withheld by your employer. Self-Employed Individuals must pay a quarterly estimate.

Local Services Tax Collection

Keystone Collections Group is the Local Services Tax collector for Reserve Township.

Employers

Employers with work sites in the Township, or who employ individuals working from a home office in the Township, are required to withhold a Local Services Tax (LST) of $52 annually. The tax should be withheld at a rate of $1 per week and submitted quarterly.

Employees who earn less than $12,000 in the Township, or who have multiple employers, may request an exemption from the tax.

Self-Employed Individuals

Self-employed individuals working in the Township, or operating out of a home-based office, are also subject to the tax. An independent contractor with no fixed place of business is deemed to be operating in the Township unless they can show that they are paying the tax to another municipality.

Employees

All employees or self-employed individuals working in Reserve must pay a Local Services Tax (LST) of $52.00 annually. Employers withhold the tax at a rate of $1.00 per week and submit it quarterly. 

An exemption to the tax may be granted to individuals based on low income or multiple employers. Employees requesting an exemption must complete an Exemption Certificate (PDF). One copy must be submitted to the employee’s payroll department and one copy must be submitted to Keystone Collections Group.
